That's exactly what the South Park birdhouse in Darlington could be forgiven for thinking- as its decision to adopt a foul-mouthed parrot is turning out to be an inspired marketing ploy.
Max, a five-year-old African grey parrot, has hit the headlines for entertaining visitors with his imitations of car alarms and mobile phone ringtones and ruffling their feathers with outbursts of expletives.
The previous owner donated Max because he'd had enough of the parrot's filthy language.
Keeper Peter Hansom said that Max was quick on the uptake and that the local schoolchildren soon managed to teach him how to swear.
Sometimes he would just say hello or bye, Hansom added, but as often as not it was f*** off.
He said that the parrot's favourite trick was to stick his head in a tin cup in his cage and then swear. He seemed to know it made a louder sound.
Most attractions wouldn't generally consider it good publicity if visitors were to being told to f*** off.
But the animal's vulgar behaviour is sure to raise awareness of the attraction and bring in punters eager to witness the bird's filthy banter.
