The UK is now being touted as the international hub of PR after a poll showed that agencies in the country are increasing their overseas activities.
Some 36 per cent of agencies have seen their international business increase over the last five years, with eight per cent saying that between 91 and 100 per cent of their business is currently internationally focused.
Salt director Andrew Last said that apart from the language and time zone benefits of being based in the UK, the prime driver behind the figures was the respect in which the country's PR expertise is held around the world.
The survey of the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) Leaders' Panel shows only 17 per cent do not have any revenues at all from international PR.
The research also revealed that a international projects now makes up 21 to 30 per cent of a quarter of agencies' business.
The PRCA PR Leaders' Panel is made up of managing directors of members of the PRCA.
